One step closer...

Derrick gets so mad when he cant get to where he wants to go. He is close to crawling but still has yet to put all the motions together. Today he thought it would be funny to tease mommy and make me think he was going to crawl. Just wanted to share a couple pictures and a video of the little man.

He wasn't too happy that he couldnt get to where he wanted to go (and this serves as proof that he does cry...)

But a second later he was fine :-)

Happy Valentines Day!! Me and my mini-valentine had a great day. It started with a surprise delivery from Doug. Even from the middle of the ocean somewhere he still managed to surprise me with a delivery of 2 dozen gorgeous roses!! They are so beautiful and everytime i walk into the kitchen and see them, my heart flutters. I love him so much!!

Little D is getting sooo strong! Tonight we were playing in his room and he sat up all by himself for a full 45 minutes. He even reached to get toys and was able to get back up by himself. We had so much fun. Here are some fun pictures from our fun time. 7 Months Ago...

...our prince was born!! Can you believe it, Derrick is officially 7 months old today!!!! He has grown and changed so beautifully. He now rolls over and over and over going from one side of the room to the other. He is getting much better at sitting up on his own. He babbles and is a little chatter box. He is eating solids and still breastfeeding. I fall more and more in love with him everyday. And yes, he looks more and more like his (handsome) daddy all the time!! Good thing I still think you're a stud honey!!

At 7 months of age Derrick has been on an airplane, traveled from San Francisco to San Diego to the beach and the mountains to see snow. He has been to Disneyland, California Adventure, and Knott's Berry Farm (for dinner). He is a busy little bee!!! And we will be venturing up to the Bay Area pretty soon to see daddy pull into his home port and Derrick will get to go on Daddy's ship too (keep an eye out for pictures next month!!). We also will be taking a trip to Arizona right before Derrick's 1st birthday for my cousin's wedding. A lot of adventure ahead of us and we can't wait!!

These past 7 months have gone by so fast. This time last year we didn't even know if our little peanut was a boy or girl and here we are with this beautiful boy who is such a happy little guy. I love that Doug has made it possible for me to stay at home with our little man. He truly has been the best thing in our lives. Here is a glimpse at how our little peanut has grown in the past 7 months:

...for my super cool, new jammies!! Doug bought Derrick these jammies  a couple months ago and they finally fit him!! They are super cool and fit perfectly. I love them. (He wasn't really in the mood to take his picture because it was time to eat...so this is the best I got!!). Thanks Daddy!!!!!

And it begins.....

Derrick is getting stronger and stronger each day. He is just about able to sit up on his own. Day by day he is sitting longer and longer. Today he was relaxing in the back of daddy's truck!! More pictures to come soon!!

Toes in the Water...

Doug was fortunate to have a couple days off while they had a port call in Cozumel, Mexico. I was so excited for him to have a little down time and to enjoy the sunshine, sand and beautiful blue water. He did a lot of exploring and sounded so relaxed when I talked to him. 

He sent me some pictures that I wanted to share with everyone. Excuse the quality...he sent them all from his cell phone because that was the only way he could. He has tons more on his camera but it will be awhile before I can get my hands on them. 

As I look at these pictures, I sit here pretending I have a pina colada in my hand as I am "sitting next to him" enjoying the water and sand...
