Just a little funny...

...I have to share with you. We have a great bedtime routine going for little Derrick. He gets his bath, lotion, jammies, a little chit-chat time with mommy (or with daddy thanks to speakerphone!) and then he eats and is off to bed.

He looks adorable in all his jammies but I noticed that everytime he work his monkey ones, he would hold his legs in the air. It finally dawned on me that he was staring at the little monkeys on his feet. He cracks me up!! You try holding your legs up like this...talk about one heck of a workout. And little man holds them up a looooong time.

Showing off his monkey jammies

Holding those legs up...kinda looks like he is pointing to his monkeys

The best is when he starts "talking" to them

I just threw this picture in because I liked it (even though it is a little blurry)

Halloween!!!!!!

Happy Halloween!!! This was Derrick's first big holiday and the fun is just beginning. He dressed up as a skeleton this year....he looked adorable. We didn't do the trick or treating thing because let's face it, I would end up eating all the candy. We went to Grandma Shirley's to see his cousins and get some pictures.

Pumpkin Patch - Part 2

Our second adventure to the pumpkin patch was with Grandpa and Nana. It was Nana's birthday so we went to dinner then to the pumpkin patch....Derrick had so much fun!!

I love the expressions he makes

Pumpkin Patch - Part 1

Halloween would not be complete without a trip to the pumpkin patch. Being that it is Derrick's first Halloween we decided to go twice...and we had so much fun!! We went to one pumpkin patch with my bro, sis-in-law, niece and nephew. The first night we went it was so horribly windy and crowded that we left after a few minutes and tried the next night which ended up being so much better!!

He sure is the cutest pumpkin in the patch

Such a good sport

First Trip to Disneyland!!

Last Friday, October 23, Derrick took his first adventure to Disneyland. We tagged along with Andrea and the munchkins and such a great time. Granted Derrick can't go on any rides or truly appreciate the characters, he seemed to have a great time! He slept, he played, he slept again followed by some more fun. Overall it was a great time...and I now have an annual pass so we will be going again!!

On the trip down, he loves look at his hanging giraffe!!

And then he actually fell asleep in the car!

On the tram to the entrance (the sun wasn't cooperating!)

Loved the giant Mickey pumpkin!

All of us!

This is love...

He steals my heart everyday. I truly am so thankful to Doug for all the encouragement and support he gives me to be a stay-at-home mommy with our nugget. I know he sometimes feels like he isn't doing anything being that he is so far away but I love him and all he does for us. It is love and we know it!! I was telling Derrick all about what daddy does for us and this was his response...

Look daddy...

At this time last year I found out I was preggo with my peanut (yes, he has graduated to my nugget now). Doug had just left for a 2 month deployment to the Bering Sea in Alaska for the crab fishing season. He found out about the 2 pink lines...errr + sign...via a text message from me. What a way to tell him huh?!?! LOL. I had sooo many great ideas of ways to tell him but he was gone and I did not know how long he would be in cell phone range.

While he was in Dutch Harbor, Alaska he bought our peanuts very first outfit. He must have known that our peanut was going to be a boy because it was a blue outfit. It finally fits Derrick so I decided to put it on him and take some pics. Thank you daddy!!!...

He wasn't too sure about the whole outfit

Maybe it isn't so bad

No words....priceless expression!!

Oh no....

Daddy was on the phone & Derrick was telling him "I love my outfit daddy!!"

Mommy look what I can do....

The highlight of my day is becoming when I walk into Derrick's room either during or after his nap and the surprise that awaits me. Somedays it is a smile from ear to ear, others he is sound asleep and yesterday, well, you can see for yourself....

I am just so in love with my little nugget!!! How can you resist those big eyes.....

Tummy Time

We have daily tummy time adventures and Derrick is getting so strong. So last week I decided to snap some pictures of Derrick's progress. Love my little nugget....

Getting so strong

He makes the funniest faces

Just taking a little break

Ooooh my arm looks yummy

Again with the expressions....hehehe....

Love my little munchkin!!

Derrick's new trick...

Occasionally I will give Derrick a bottle and lately he...errrr we...figured out a new trick so he can feed himself (well as possible as that is at this point). I was feeding him one day and he just happend to place his hand under the bottle and voila!! Just thought I would share his new trick...

My camping adventures...

Last weekend Derrick got to spend part of Sunday at his Grandpa & Nana's house while mommy did some hands free shopping. He had such a great time and they even had a mini camping adventure. Here are some adorable pics:

Derrick was the Deer in Headlights at the campground

So happy

I got mommy's dimples!!

Having such a great time

Some say I look like daddy...but I really look like grandpa

Case and point!
