All I want for Christmas...

...is my daddy to come home!! We went to visit Santa today and Derrick did great. He looked at Santa, smiled and then just sat there. We got a great picture too!! Only 9 more days until our Christmas wish comes true...

Who Needs a Pacifier..

...when you have a perfectly good toe. Derrick's new found obsession is his feet. He has learned to suck on his toes....and I got video of him doing it too. This is my first attempt at uploading a video so hope it works. It is too funny how he goes to town just sucking on his toe and to be soooo flexible....

Shout Out!!

Just a quick shout out to my hubby, Doug! We haven't heard from him in a couple days because he is out in the middle of the water somewhere but just want you to know we love you, miss you and are always thinking of you! Loved the new pics you put up on your blog...keep them coming! 5 Months!!

Well, little D is officially 5 months old today! He is growing so fast, I hate it!! We had a doctor appointment today and it went really well. I am not sure if you remember our 4 month appointment but it was a disaster....needless to say, I switched doctors and love our new pediatrician!! So here are the stats:

Height: 25.5 inches (25th percentile)

Weight: 12 pounds, 2 ounces (less than 5th percentile)

Head: 17 inches (I think, cant remember....50th percentile)

He is growing! He is still low on the weight end of things but the doctor wasn't concerned because he is growing (he has doubled his birth weight before six months which is a great sign!) and meeting all his other milestones. We have started rice cereal and are going to move onto oatmeal and barley and then when Doug comes home for Christmas we will be able to start some baby food!!!!! YAY!!! Derrick is rolling over, "talking", wiggling all over the place, smiling...so many changes in the past few months that I cant wait for Doug to get home and experience all the fun our little man has become.

Sorry no picture, little man is sleeping and so I will have to take one and post it later :0)

Christmas is getting closer!!! I finally got all of our decorations up. YAY!! Here are a couple pictures of our Christmas decorations. I didn't get a chance to take pictures of the outside of the house because of the rain...so keep your eye out for more pictures to come! :0) Enjoy...

Trial Run

Derrick is just about 5 months old and I decided to start him on rice cereal to get him used to eating...so when Doug comes home for Christmas Derrick will be able to try baby food for the first time!! Hooray!! But my little man is growing up. I snapped some pictures of him sitting in his Bumbo patiently waiting for his cereal. He loved every minute of it and I couldn't feed him fast enough.

You want me to do what with that?

Thank you mommy! I can't wait for real baby food when daddy gets home!

Wiggle Worm

My little man is sure becoming a wiggle worm!! When he lays on his play mat he usually has wiggled himself off of it within a few minutes. He just wants to be on the move and once he figures out how to crawl, I am going to be in big trouble!! :-) I put Derrick in his bouncy seat while he watched his Baby Einstein DVD so I could wash the dishes. He was in my sight and I watched him arch his back, push off with his feet and wiggle himself into this position...and he seemed pretty content just staying like this...

He started wiggling..

...and ended up here...

...he sat there holding his feet for a good 5 minutes...

...then he kept wiggling until his feet touched the floor...

...then he was content!!!

He laid like this, perfectly content for a couple minutes, until I moved him because I didn't want him to hurt himself. No more sitting in his bouncy seat unless he is buckled in. I have a feeling I will be making some sort of crawling post sooner rather than later!!

Seriously...

...my kid is cuter than yours!! Enough said.

Let the Countdown Begin....

December is officially here!! And you know what that means....a little over 3 weeks until Christmas! Woohoo!!

I have lots to get done. Besides the usual Christmas shopping, I have a handful of projects to get done before the hubby comes home for the holidays. I had every intention of starting my projects when my hunny left back in October and procrastination got the best of me. Guess I better get off the blog and get working......

I know Thanksgiving hasn't even come and go yet but I couldn't resist starting to decorate for Christmas. My niece and nephew were spending the day at grandma's house so I recruited them all to help me get the Christmas fun started!! Derrick had a blast with his cousins and it allowed me free hands to get stuff put up. Alyssa (my niece) took my camera and did a mini photo shoot of the boys. It was sooo adorable...here are some pictures of the fun...(I will put up more pictures of the actual decorations when I get them all up)

Joshy's Birthday
